"On This Day" Posts Shortcode
Adds an [on_this_day] shortcode that lists posts published on today's date in previous years, a simple way to resurface archive content on the homepage or in a sidebar.
Snippet Library
Snippets that add to or change your posts and pages: reading time, author boxes, “last updated” notes, content after the post or after a paragraph, and excerpt tweaks. For bloggers, publishers and anyone who wants richer posts without editing theme files.
Adds an [on_this_day] shortcode that lists posts published on today's date in previous years, a simple way to resurface archive content on the homepage or in a sidebar.
Shows a clear banner at the top of the page whenever someone previews a draft, pending or scheduled post, so reviewers never mistake a preview for the live page or share it by accident.
Inserts a block of HTML (an ad, a newsletter prompt or any call to action) after the third paragraph of single posts.
Inserts your ad code after the first quarter of each post's content, a placement that tends to perform well without pushing the article down.
Replaces the [...] at the end of automatic excerpts with an accessible "Continue reading" link to the full post.
Adds a box with the author avatar, name, biography and a link to their other posts at the end of single posts. Authors without a biography are skipped.
Adds a linked table of contents above posts that have enough headings, and gives each heading an anchor so readers can jump straight to a section.
Refuses to publish content that still contains placeholder words such as "Lorem ipsum", "TODO", "TK" or "[insert", so unfinished drafts never go live by accident.
Adds a [button] shortcode that turns a link into a styled button using your theme's button styles, for calls to action inside classic content and widgets.
Places a call-to-action box halfway through each post, where readers who are engaged are most likely to notice it.
Sets automatically generated excerpts to 30 words instead of the default 55.
Adds [members_only] and [guests_only] shortcodes so you can show different text, links or offers to visitors depending on whether they are logged in.
Outputs the current year. Insert it with the snippet shortcode anywhere you need a year that updates itself, such as a footer notice.
Adds a [field] shortcode that prints the value of a custom field of the current post, so you can show details like a price or a subtitle inside the content.
Replaces the standard "This content is password protected" sentence with your own message, for example explaining how to get the password.
Stops WordPress from wrapping text in paragraph tags and adding line breaks in classic content and excerpts. Block content is not affected.
Turns off wptexturize, which converts straight quotes, double hyphens and ellipses into typographic characters. Useful for sites that publish code.
Registers a [copyright_years] shortcode that outputs a range like "© 2016–2026 Site Name", starting from your first post or a year you choose.
Adds the Excerpt box to pages, which many themes and SEO plugins can use as a summary.
Shows a notice in the block editor when someone opens a post published more than two years ago, reminding them to check facts, links and screenshots while they are there.
Adds a [spoiler] shortcode that blurs a word or sentence until the reader clicks it or presses Enter or Space, and keeps the hidden text from screen readers until it is revealed.
Registers a [login_logout_link] shortcode that shows "Log in" to visitors and "Log out" to logged-in users, returning them to the same page.
Wraps tables in posts and pages in a scrollable container so wide tables no longer break the layout on phones.
Stops posts shorter than a minimum number of words from being published, in both the block editor and the classic editor, to keep thin content off the site.
