Bring Back Appearance > Customize on Block Themes

Restores the Customize link under Appearance and in the admin bar on block themes, for quick access to Customizer settings such as Site Identity and Homepage Settings.

Code

// On block themes WordPress shows Appearance > Customize (and the "Customize" admin bar link)
// only when something hooks into the Customizer. An empty callback is enough to bring both back.
add_action( 'customize_register', '__return_null' );

Notes

The Customizer only shows the panels that still apply to your theme. Colors, fonts and layouts of block themes stay in the Site Editor.
