When a user's public display name is the same as their login name (the WordPress default), switches it to their first and last name, or to a neutral name, so author bylines and comments do not reveal usernames.
Keeps author archive pages out of search results while their links are still followed, which suits single-author blogs where they duplicate the main blog.
Reminds editors with a notice in the block editor when the post they opened was written by another author, to avoid unintended changes to a colleague's work.
Shows Media > Library as a table by default instead of the thumbnail grid, which makes file names, dates, authors and attachment details easier to scan on large libraries.
Sets how many posts appear on author and date (year, month, day) archives, independent of the main blog setting.
Lists links whose text is "click here", "read more", "here" or a bare URL in the block editor's pre-publish panel, so authors can rewrite them to describe where they lead.
Lists the latest drafts from every author on the dashboard, so editors can see what is in progress across the team.
Once a week, emails each author a list of their drafts that have not been touched for a month, with edit links, so good ideas do not get forgotten.
Strips commenters' IP addresses and host names from the new comment and moderation emails WordPress sends to authors and administrators, so personal data does not pile up in inboxes.
Makes the site search also return posts written by authors whose name matches the search, so "maria" finds everything by Maria Lopez.
When a Contact Form 7 form is placed on a post, listing or profile page, the message goes to that post's author instead of the site admin.
Sends the admin notification of a Gravity Forms form to the author of the post or page the form was submitted from, ideal for agent, listing or staff profile pages.
Tells Google Analytics 4 which category, author and post type each page belongs to, so you can see which topics and writers bring the most engagement.
Sends WPForms notifications to the author of the post or page where the form was filled in, for agent, listing or team profile pages.
Adds an [author_field name="job_title"] shortcode that shows an ACF user field of the current post's author, for author boxes and bylines.
Users who cannot edit other people's posts, like authors and contributors, see only their own items in the admin lists.
Authors and contributors only see files they uploaded in the Media Library and media picker. Editors and administrators still see everything.
Stops sending comments from logged-in users who can edit posts (authors, editors, administrators) to Akismet, saving API calls and keeping staff replies out of the spam queue.
Gives new users an author URL slug based on their user ID instead of their login name, and adds a one-click fix under Users for existing accounts whose author URL shows their username.
Lets authors and contributors write and submit posts as usual, but once a post is published only editors and administrators can change it, which keeps approved content approved.
Stops WordPress from emailing post authors about new comments and moderators about comments awaiting approval.
Lets editors and authors edit entries of chosen post types but only administrators can trash or delete them, protecting records like locations or products.
Removes the "Edit as HTML" option from block menus for everyone except administrators, so authors cannot break block markup by hand.
Displays single entries of chosen post types with your theme's page template instead of the blog post template, so they have no dates, authors or post navigation.
