Update the Cart Automatically When Quantities Change

Refreshes the classic cart totals as soon as a quantity is changed, so shoppers do not need to press "Update cart". The button is hidden.

Code

add_action( 'wp_footer', function () {
    if ( ! function_exists( 'is_cart' ) || ! is_cart() ) {
        return;
    }
    ?>
<style>.woocommerce-cart-form button[name="update_cart"]{display:none !important;}</style>
<script>
(function () {
    var timer;
    document.addEventListener('change', function (e) {
        if (!e.target.matches('.woocommerce-cart-form input.qty')) { return; }
        clearTimeout(timer);
        timer = setTimeout(function () {
            var button = document.querySelector('.woocommerce-cart-form button[name="update_cart"]');
            if (button) { button.disabled = false; button.click(); }
        }, 500);
    });
})();
</script>
    <?php
} );

Notes

Only for the classic cart shortcode; the Cart block already updates instantly.
